I have been Acting Assistant Principal and Acting Deputy Principal while teaching at Leamington School. I am an active member of the Special Needs committee, and am an advocate for Special Needs Children, liaising with Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour; Psychologists and Speech Language Therapists from Group Special Education; Psychologists and Paediatricians from the Child Development Clinic, local Doctors, and Specialty Teachers from Patricia Avenue School, Psychologists and Speech Language Therapists from the McKenzie Centre.
My teaching experience ranges from Early Childhood through to Year 0 to 4 at the Primary Level, including a Junior Maori Enrichment class. I have a particular interest in the development of young children. I liaise with the local Preschools, including, giving talks to Early Childhood Groups on, Getting Ready For School. I run a Kick Start programme for pre-school children to ease their integration in to school.
I live in the country and enjoy the peace and quiet of the country. I like animals and birds, especially the vast number of wild birds that are on the farm. I enjoy gardening, reading and doing 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. I like spending time with family and friends.
