Welcome to Room 10

We are learning about the writing process.

Planning is where we come up with

great ideas to write about.

Drafting is the quiet writing stage where all our amazing

ideas are recorded on paper.

Conferrring is the part where we find a buddy

and read our story to them. They give us

feedback on what they like and what we

can make even better.

Then we edit/refine our writing. This is where we add

interesting words, language features and fix our

spelling mistakes. We are getting very good at

locating words in a dictionary.

Lastly we publish our writing. This can mean typing it out, writing it out neatly, or reading it aloud.

An amazing hot air balloon came to out school. We learned all about what they are made of, how they fly and who invented them.

It was really exciting to see the flames shoot out of the burner and high into the sky.

We were a little disappointed that it was too windy to inflate the balloon though.

We have been learning to swim this term.

We know that when we are in the streamline position we need to look like a sharp pencil, just like this.

We opened our eyes and found objects that had sunk to the bottom of the pool.
We have been using the flutter boards to help us learn to glide and float. Gliding is when our legs are still.

Our library day is Friday. We love our quiet  reading time and this means we can practice our self discipline.
