End of Season Success and Prize Giving Awards

Saturday 10th September was Finals Day and what a day it was. In the first Final at 12pm, Leamington Wentwood Grange, our Yr. 6 'A' team, were playing in the Yr.7 Final. They were raised into this grade earlier in the season when the grading round finished as they were unbeaten. They then went on to complete the season unbeaten and on Saturday they beat St. Peter's Thunder 22-16 to lift the Shield. It really has been an amazing season for them and special thanks go to the coaching team of Kerin and Kim for all the hard work they have put in this year.

At 1pm we had two more teams competing in Finals.

Leamington Cambridge Stud, our Yr.6 'B' team also had an amazing season and went through the whole competition round with just the one loss. Saturday saw them face their nemesis side, St. Peter's Magic, in the Final and, unfortunately it wasn't to be our day. A very spirited performance saw St. Peter's emerge victorious 29-14. Our girls gave an excellent account of themselves and played with real heart. The coaching team were especially proud of the girls and would like to thank them for all the hard work they have put in this year. Well Done Girls.

Saturday also saw our Yr. 4 team, Leamington Stars, compete in their Final. This team can only be described as incredible. They lost just the one game in the competition round, scored a massive 272 goals along the way, won the St. Peter's Tournament and, on Saturday, won their Final against Goodwood by 12-7. These girls have a very bright future indeed and a huge thanks has to go out to Tarnya and Bronwyn for all the hard work they have put in this year. Leamington Netball is in very safe hands.

Sunday was time for us to have our Prize Giving. This was our chance to say a huge Thank You to everyone, the girls, the coaches, the teachers and principal and the parents. The weather aside, it was a great day and drew the curtain on a fabulous season. Each girl received a certificate and a medal with the coaches also getting the chance to single out individuals for special commendation. They are as follows:--
